Evaluations
The Evaluation day is a day of daycare where you will drop your pet off in the morning with us between 8am and 10am. They will need to be here for at least 4 hours but can stay longer if they are doing well. You do not need to stay with them! In the time that they are here, we will make sure that we are the right fit for them. We do not make any claims that we are the best daycare for all of our 2 and 4 legged clients. Each dog is different and will have different needs and sometimes, we cannot meet them. Our policy is to always make sure that all dogs are having a great time with us and we will communicate any issues we have to you.
The evaluation day will look a little like this for your pet.
We will start them off in a play area with one on one time with our experienced handlers to see how they settle in. Once they are comfortable, we will introduce them to some of our experienced daycare dogs with calm and playful temperaments that aren’t too overly excited! From there we will slowly increase the number of dogs they are in the group with to gauge their comfort level. We will place them in a kennel for a short period of time to make sure they are comfortable being kenneled for some down time as well. We do kennel dogs outside of playtime and for naps or rest when they need it as well as feedings that need to be done so it is important for us to make sure they are able to do so.
Testing for any kind of reactivity will also happen throughout the time they are with us. Reactivity of some kind is common in most dogs and we can work around it but will sometimes need your help along with a trainer! These are some of the issues we will absolutely communicate with you not only on the evaluation day but throughout your dogs time with us.
Not all dogs are perfect on their first day which is why we have the 5 visit probation period so we can make sure they have the ability to become comfortable and make friends.
5 Visit Probation Period
All of our new daycare dogs are subject to a 5 visit probation period before you can buy daycare packages. Daycare packages are non refundable or transferrable so this is why we want to make sure that your pet is getting comfortable before your purchase a package. After 5 daycare days or boarding nights you will be able to purchase packages. We may extend the probation period if there are any issues but we would communicate those with you each visit and at the end of the 5 visit probation.
