Daycare and Boarding
What do I need to do to get started in your Daycare or Boarding program?
You will need to create an account on our Gingr page which you can find the link on the New Client Page. Once your account is created, you can upload or email us directly your vaccine records, give us a call and we can schedule the evaluation day!
Vaccines
Our vaccine requirements are listed on our daycare page. We require all owners to provide us with updated records before scheduling any services. If you pet has a standing reservation and any vaccines are expired, we will cancel the reservation if we do not have them updated. Due to the high number of clients we have, we are not able to call each and everyone individually. Gingr will automatically generate emails for vaccines that will be expiring in 30 days. Please make sure you have an email address on file that you check frequently.
What is an Evaluation?
To ensure the safety of all pets that attend our programs, we preform and evaluation or what is also known as a temperament test. This is required for all new clients for boarding and daycare. Your pup will be given a trail run to ensure they will enjoy our program, are well behaved in a kennel, they love our staff members, and overall, they are comfortable with us!
What is a Re-Evaluation?
A re-evaluation is required for clients who have not attended our daycare or boarding program within 6 months. We require a re-evaluation for your pets safety and comfort. A lot can change in 6 months!
What is your probation period?
Once your pet passes the evaluation they will be placed on a 5 visit probation period. This is to ensure your pet has time to acclimate to our program and will continue to thrive! We want to make sure your pets love it here and are comfortable. During this time we will work with you and offer recommendations if needed to improve your pets time with us. Please keep in mind all 5 visit should be in close concession. After the probation period, you will be allowed to purchase packages. If we see any issues with your pet attending daycare with us, we will communicate those issues with you and may extend the probation period to give them extra time to settle in.
What if my pet is having issues at daycare or boarding?
We pride ourselves on being as open and honest with our clients about behavior as possible. To us, there is no such thing as a bad dog but just
Is my pet kenneled?
Yes! Your pet will be kenneled for the following reasons; sleeping at night time, meal times, nap and break times. We always recommend pet parents work on kennel training their pets for not only our sake but because a kenneled trained pet tends to be able to self regulate better and have less anxiety.
Are staff members present during an overnight stay?
Yes! We are staffed 24/7 to ensure the safety of all pets.
Do you have an outdoor area for the dogs to go potty?
Not at this time.
What are the pros and cons of socializing your pet?
Pros:
A well socialized pet is a happy and well rounded pet! There are many advantages of having your pet attend daycare. We provide structured play times so that all of our guests have the best time possible!
Your pet will go home tired and happy after a day of making friends!
We also work on training during the day while they are with us. Basic manners like sit, stay, wait, and gate manners are practiced with the staff. Training them while in a high distracted environment can be very beneficial! Of course we do not make your dog perfect and we do not force them to participate if they chose not to. Working with them at home as well as with a trainer at some point in their life is highly encouraged!
Well socialized and trained pets are shown to have less anxiety and be happier overall from physical and mental activity.
Cons:
Just like children at daycare, dogs come in contact with more germs than ones who stay home. These germs can be anything from fecal parasites to colds to puppy warts. Our staff are always watching for any signs of issues with your pet while they are with us and we use veterinary recommended cleaning products that are safe and effective at killing as many germs as possible.
That being said, we cannot always combat mother nature and we all know how she can be! It is typical that new pets to our daycare especially puppies, older dogs and dogs with immune issues to pick something up at some point.
Scratches can happen, dogs play with their teeth after all. Rough and tumble players and dogs with thinner hair are more prone to going home with superficial scrapes just like a rambunctious kid at the playground! Larger injuries can happen as well such as scuffles, knee or hip injuries, and many other things. We work very hard to prevent these things from happening but it is a risk and we want you to be aware of that.
Dirt! We always say the more fun your pet has, the dirty they will be. We do our best to wipe them down and will wash them if they absolutely need it but we do recommend our regular daycare clients to get a bath or groom with the professionals at some point! Just ask our reception staff and they can get a groomer for you.
Not all dogs like other dogs and that is OK!!!! After all, I am sure you do not like all people. All daycare programs are not the same and we are not always the best fit for some 2 or 4 legged clients. A large majority of dogs are dog selective so we are skilled at picking out friends for your pet based on temperament. Due to our structure, we do not take dogs that do not get along with any dogs.
How much play time will my dog get during the day?
Our play times start at about 7am and go until about 5. That being said not all dogs are out at all times. Some dogs need breaks, meals and just time to get away during their day. We will communicate with you if your dog needs extra breaks than most. Our groups are staffed and these times may change due to staffing issues but that will be rare and unpredictable.
What are packages?
We offer packages for Daycare only. When you purchase a package you will save money (we give you a discount per day) and time because we deduct the package days for you! When you are running low we will notify you upon pick up. We offer half day and full day packages for 10 or 20 days. All package sales are non refundable, non-transferable, and expire within 6 months of purchase.
Grooming
What is required to make a Grooming appointment?
For new and current clients, all pets must be kept current on their Rabies vaccination. We can’t accept the tags since it does not include an expiration date. Please, just give us a call to schedule grooming (you will need an appointment) and make sure you have your rabies paperwork handy! We will need some basic information from you to set up your profile and you will be set to go.
When my pet is groomed do they interact with other dogs?
Nope! Your pet does not interact with other pets unless you request for them to attend Daycare first and then groomed later in the afternoon. To do this, a separate evaluation day must be set up as well as meeting all vaccine requirements for daycare
How long will it take for my pet to be groomed?
Depending on the condition your pet arrives in and the services we are performing, time may vary. We will give you an estimate upon drop off however, we will call you as soon as the grooming service is complete!
What is the VIP program?
Our VIP program is free! It is for grooming clients who set up their next appointment at their current appointment. This will ensure you get priority booking during our busiest time as well as discounts on our add on services! Clients who cancel, reschedule or are not regularly making their next appointment will lose their VIP status. You can ask the groomer how to become a VIP and they will get you set up!
Everything in between
How far in advance do I need to make my reservation for any service?
For most of our services, we can make them as far in advance as you’d like and we can take same day reservations however, it is not a guarantee. You can request a reservation through our Gingr App (only for Daycare and Boarding), give us a call, or an email. We do not recommend using message in a bottle or carrier pigeon due to their unreliability. Grooming appointments can take a bit to get since we are typically booked out 3 or more weeks in advance.
*For new clients wanting to participate in our daycare and boarding programs we will not be able to accommodate same day reservation request.*
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that you give us a 24 hour notice for all of our services. Less than 24 hour notice can result in additional fees or require a non-refundable prepayment. We understand that life happens and we are willing to work with you!
Do you offer discounts?
We do! We offer discounts for first responders, military, as well as veterinary staff. Grooming clients who are apart of our VIP program receive 50% off most of our add on services.
Dogs that have additional services during boarding stays or stay for an extended period of time will also receive discounts.
