Your Dog’s New Year’s Resolutions

Hi hoomans! It’s me, your favorite furry friend, and I’ve been thinking… humans love making New Year’s resolutions. So why shouldn’t us dogs get in on the action too? Here’s my official list of goals for the coming year—tail wags guaranteed.

1. Chew Less, Nap More… Strategically
I know, I know… last year I got a little carried away with the chew toys. A few socks didn’t survive, and yes, the shoes were extra crunchy. This year, I’m focusing  my chewing energy on actual toys (preferably the squeaky kind) and taking strategic naps when the humans aren’t trying to drag me out for a walk.

2. Perfect the “Puppy Eyes” Look
Some say I’ve already mastered it, but perfection is a journey, right? I want to get even better at convincing the humans I’m guilty of nothing while quietly planning my next zoomies session.

3. Make Walks More Interesting
Sure, I’ve sniffed every tree on our street, but now I’m aiming to explore new scents, chase that elusive squirrel with better strategy, and maybe—just maybe—let the mail carrier live.

4. Be Extra Lovable (On My Terms)
Cuddles are great, but timing is everything. I resolve to give more kisses during cozy couch time, but I also reserve the right to dramatically ignore humans when I need my “me time.” Balance is key.

5. Learn a New Trick… or Two
I know humans love it when I show off. Whether it’s rolling over, high-fiving, or learning how to fetch the remote, I want to expand my skillset and wow my humans this year. Treats encouraged—but not mandatory (well… mostly).

6. Bark Less, Wag More
Barking is fun, but sometimes humans want peace and quiet. This year, I resolve to bark only when absolutely necessary—like when the doorbell rings, or when the neighbor’s cat thinks it can cross my yard. The rest of the time? Full-on tail wagging.

7. Eat More Greens… Occasionally
I’m not giving up my beloved treats and kibble, but I will attempt the occasional carrot or green bean. Humans seem proud when I do, so why not?

8. Enjoy Every Moment
Most importantly, I resolve to fully enjoy every walk, every cuddle, every snack, and every game of fetch. Life is short, and I intend to sniff, wiggle, and zoom to the fullest.

So, hoomans, what are your resolutions? Just remember—if your goals involve more love, more treats, and more belly rubs… we’re already on the same page.

Here’s to a paw-some New Year! 🐾
